Bids for Coffee Kids Auction Cracks $10,000 Mark
What do four homeroasters do when they aren’t roasting? Why, they organize an auction to raise funds for their favorite chartiable organization, Coffee Kids. Not content with just any auction, they nudge and challenge one another to set a seemingly difficult goal: $10,000 or bust.
Well, did they set their sights too high? Not this year. Not when you have generous vendors and donors like we have in the specialty coffee industry! For the second year in a row, the spring homeroasters auction has matched charitable business members with homeroasters in the US and Canada in need of green coffee and some cool equipment. Many of the coffee items went for well above their retail value.
This year’s auction set a record at $10,063! Forty-one generous businesses and individuals gifted Coffee Kids with coffee items that would move in an auction. The donors include:
