On September 26, Once Over Coffee Bar in Austin, TX held the Give-It Away Latte Art Throwdown. Barista Lorenzo Perkins of Caffe Medici took top honors. The throwdown raised over $800 for Coffee Kids.

October 15 to 31 Sparty’s, a chain of campus coffee shops and convenience stores at Michigan State University, educated its customers about the coffee trade while accepting donations for Coffee Kids.

Bold Street Coffee of Liverpool, England held its inaugural coffee event, inviting their customers to a tasting of a variety of roasts from local suppliers. They tasted one espresso at a time and wrote notes on paper hung on the walls. Bold Street also collected donations for Coffee Kids from their customers.

Coffee Exchange of Providence, R.I., makes a contribution to Coffee Kids every time one of their customers uses a Coffee Exchange gift card.

For a week the students at Dater Montessori, a school located in Cincinnati, OH, sold coffee at their student-organized business Plazzo de Caffe while learning about the coffee trade. Fifty cents from each cup sold were donated to Coffee Kids.

Reunion Island of Oakville, ON, has introduced their Holiday Blend for a limited time. The medium dark roasted coffee is for sale on their website. They will donate .25 to Coffee Kids for each pound sold.

Sweet Maria’s 2011 Dogs of Coffee Calendar is once again available on their website and in their store in Oakland, CA. The calendar features photos of dogs from coffee-growing communities around the world. With each calendar sold, .50 will go to Coffee Kids.
