It’s been you in the great Coffee Kids Community that made our program grow over the past years. Even during the extremely challenging year 2020 with all impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic you did not stop to support our work. We are grateful for that!

And together, we proved to be right.

We saw so many young coffee farmers thrive and changing their life’s as well as the face of their communities. They started own coffee shops, became entrepreneurs, founded businesses like honey production or coffee nurseries and inspired so many other young people around them. The Coffee Kids three-pillar approach combining training, mentoring and seed financing has proven to be very effective in improving their livelihood perspectives.

Since 2015, the Coffee Kids program is part of the Hamburg based Hanns R. Neumann Stiftung (HRNS). Coffee Kids became a programmatic frontrunner in the foundation’s youth approach. Since HRNS took over Coffee Kids, the program has worked with 700+ youths in Colombia, Guatemala, Honduras, and Tanzania.

And now, something huge is happening for Coffee Kids!

To meet the needs of our growing community of next generation coffee farmers in the best way possible, we have decided to exercise an internal review of our operations. Coffee Kids teams-up with the other HRNS youth approaches – which is a great news and another proof of what we have achieved together. To do that in a systematic way, we will conduct a Coffee Kids Strategic Review 2021. This gives us a chance to better understand how to develop our program further.

What does this mean?

Our projects in Central America and Tanzania will be completed successfully end of this year by using all remaining 2020 funds. To build into the new strategy, we have decided to bring both projects into the next round until the end of 2021 by committing own HRNS funds and counting on the contribution of our strategic supporter circle. During the review period we won’t be able to accept any other donations for administrative reasons. All of you who supported Coffee Kids in the past year can and should credit this support in your own channels.

We take some time to review our approaches, operations, and processes. Our objective is to continue the Coffee Kids program after 2021 and to build on the great previous work.

We would be excited to join forces again after 2021!

Until then, please stay safe and healthy in these unprecedent times. Let me know, if you have questions.

With best greetings.
