What are goals without vision?

It has been said that the key to being a successful entrepreneur is to set a clear and coherent vision of their goals. Recently, one of our Rural Business Workshop groups, the Nuru youth group in Northern Tanzania, learned the value of vision setting first hand.

The youth group mentor, Julian (as seen on the bottom left photo above), directed the aspiring entrepreneurs in an activity where a blindfolded person led another person who wasn’t blindfolded.

Julian, whose specialty is Organizational Development and Business, moderated a discussion after the activity. The participants reflected on the experience and stressed the importance of acting as a cohesive unit as defined in the photo above that says “one team, one dream.”

Activities such as vision-setting lay an important foundation for group cohesion and individual motivation as the youth move forward on their path towards entrepreneurship together.
